Aristotle experiment Wiki
This page is advertising Estancia High School and the advantages of joining this school.
· In this page many issues related to classes are mentioned like the classes they have and student’s projects and pages.
· The setting and the colors of this page are nice.
· Colors are nice
What I did not like this page is:
· It has only one small picture of the school building,
· There is no discussion.
· The information mentioned in this page are not up dated

HAUITAIN-math is Math Resource Page that has exemplary Resources for Middle School Math & Science such as, Classroom queen Math Bookmarks, Basic Skills Practice Games – Flashcards, Real World Math. ALSO it includes good videos we can use it. I like the way they organize it and the way they post the information.

This is a classroom wiki where students will share and comment on classroom subject. It is related to US History. At the top of the page, the owner has a discussion button but he is not using it. The wiki is easy to use and navigate for students. Also, he is using the home button which minimize the hustle of pressing the back arrow button in Google every time. The wiki does not have enough images. Also, he needs to use subheadings so that it will be more organized and easy to surf. (Fahad Mohammed)

The wiki page that I viewed was a classroom wiki that used its homepage to encourage students to join the wiki to help build it for their class. I talks about the 5 Cs of Contribute, Collaborate, Cooperate, Care, and Celebrate as guides to use of wiki citizenship. Its asks that the students take serious views of their work to be sure that it is of real value to the class and will become a tool for others.
The tabs contain fun activities for math. A language arts tab is a discussion on a book being read in class. A discussion tab is set up for planning or educational points on the wiki. Additional tabs open to provide instruction or information on search tools. Basically, this wiki is a draft type page for creating a new classroom wiki directed at students.

This was a wiki for a grade 5 classroom. It was developed by the teacher.
What I Liked
· I liked that the Home page was available on every page.
· I liked that the Home page included a classroom picture.
· The Content section was very clear and made it easy to move to another page.

What I Would Do Differently in My Wiki
· The home page seemed cluttered to me. It contained a picture of the 5 big C words for classroom behavior.
· The text wrapped around the picture and I thought it was difficult to read.
· Only Math had its own section. I think it should have been included with the other subjects.

It is about using Wiki in a classroom. They are posting the 5'C. The layout seems nice with posting a picture. It has different and variety of categories. What is really impressed me is that they defined what Wiki is, why Wiki and Wiki tools, which we all should know those basic information. This Wiki page has questions and answers category which is very interesting to go back to it anytime.
However, it needs more tabs to be more accesible , looking under history we found that the teacher only who wrote and the students had no input.
With some improvement on the main page the students will end up with a great informative Wiki site. Good job!!

I choose the Wiki on “Greeting from the World” and the purpose of this wiki is to allow individuals to share their culture and their world with others. The things I liked about this wiki were things like the colors, they used bright vivid colors like purple and yellow. The wiki was very diverse and interesting because individuals discuss their cultures, so it’s very interesting to read. On the left side of the wiki there is a list of Glogs or posters(collages) from different countries which is cool and creative to look at. The things I didn’t like about the wiki was that it was too busy, there was a lot of text squeezed together. Also some Glogs or collages didn’t exist so it was a waste of time to click on those tabs. I didn’t think there was enough discussion on the discussion board, and there weren’t a lot of topics that were discussed in the discussion board.

Greetings from the World
· This is the winner of Edublog 2010 Contest among blogs from all over the world.
· 290 glogs are created by students to share information about their cities and countries from Sydney to Brazil (14 different countries).
· 420 students want to get to know each other through their picturesque glogs.
· Each country is represented by posters, video clips, cards, and pictures. For example, North Caroline state, USA is represented by Diggs elementary.

I like they way this wiki is set up. It really captures the ssence of learning from and about different cultures from around the world. The interactive part is the best part of this website becasue it seems very easy and clear. I get the sense that this is a site for kids by kids. Its a good way to represent the way we do things around here. (Riedwaan)

  • The purpose of this wiki is to keep students and parents informed about what is happening in the class. However, from the first look, one might think its purpose is to share videos.
Good elements: Shows a variety of videos, Simple, contains links to related topics, discussion is active, run by one author (the teacher in this case), contains pages for different classes, has parent information, regularly updated, includes a calendar event for the students, has categories or labels for different classes.
    Not so good elements:
Does not have information about the page or the author, the home button is inactive, discussion is not monitored and not directly related to the main topic of the wiki.

I took a look at the 2nd
Grade Classroom Wiki. The purpose of this Wiki was for the use of a
second grade class that were practicing their technology skills.

Here are the things that I like:

They used Wordle to create the poster
on the front page and they used some really cool graphics like a pair
of hands holding the world. Some of the graphics were from
mycoolsigns.com. It had visitor locations as a graphic that I liked
because it showed the location on a world map of where people were
that I had visited their Wiki.

What I didn't like: Although it fairly
easy to navigate, it didn't have a HOME button and on one of the
pages you couldn't go back either. I didn't care of the background
color of mellow yellow. (Susan)

Rihab:

I’m commenting on “2nd grade Class Wiki”. This Wiki is about using technology in the classroom. Grade 2 students are learning new ways to use the Internet as a learning tool. The students has the chance to share what they learned in class with others.

This Wiki has a home tap and page tap that has few links like “school wide wiki” that tells us about all technology activities that are taking place during certain weeks. The students posted their own calendar that shows which classes doing which activities. The history tap shows lots of students involvement in crating this Wiki.

The nice thing about this Wiki is it has a school Blog linked to it. This Blog shows all the information or activities going on in the school.

Teacher used it to introduce her class to wikis; students are learning how to post comments to discussion boards.
I like the set-up of this blog. Very colorful and writing style is very eye catching. I liked how she used the side bar to tag each subject and added colorful graphics to each. Very colorful and very appropriate for second grade.

Not very easy to navigate. There is no introduction and the discussion board really doesn’t comment on what is going on in the classroom or per subject. Not easy to navigate back to home page. There is not a lot of information about the subjects being taught.

This wiki is for second grade group, it has many tabs and it is sorted alphabetically and it is supported with pictures and videos
It has many tags that made me lost, and I didn’t like this.
The interface for the wiki it sounds Ok.But I couldn’t go back to the home page
It has around 70 people in discussion and this shows it is a good wiki.(Reham)
